Kip Keino winning the 1,500m in Mexico 1968, defeating Jim Ryun (300) in 3'34.9 to 3'37.8
His controversial victory over Jim Ryun in the 1,500 meters is considered one of running's greatest upsets;
Keino's teammate Ben Jipcho had been assigned to set a fast pace to break Ryun.

Kip Keino won the gold in Munich 1972 despite the lack of experience and technique required in
the hurdles for the steeplechase.

Pekka Vasala of Finland in 3'36.30"
