Dave Gordon was fourth (2:11:59)
so near but yet so far

Tony Sandoval was 6th with (2:12:41). two minutes
slower that his triumph in the 1980 trials.

Bill Rodgers (13) was 8th (2:13:30) better time that the one
he did in the 1976 trials. Greg Meyer was 7th (2:13:29), a
bad day for the Boston winner.
